In my Jasmine bag video tutorial, I show how the squares become a bag, from the first motif through the borders, joining, shaping, and handle. Materials

• One skein of yarn for the bag shown in the tutorial
• A crochet hook suited to that yarn
• Scissors and a yarn needle
• A stitch marker, if you find one helpful

Before you begin: The amount of yarn you need may change if you use a different skein size, yarn weight, or handle length. Check the materials shown at the start of the video if you want to match my sample. How the bag comes together

1. 1.Make the Jasmine squares. Begin with one motif and take your time with the cluster stitches. Once you’re comfortable with the movement, work the remaining squares with the same tension so they’ll be easier to join.
2. 2.Add the borders. The border gives each textured square a clearer edge. Lay the finished pieces side by side before joining them and check that their edges line up.
3. 3.Connect and shape the bag. Arrange the squares as shown in the video, then join them to form the bag body. This is a good moment to pause and check the placement before closing the seams.
4. 4.Crochet the handle. Follow the handle section of the tutorial, checking the length against how you’d like to carry the bag. Weave in the ends securely when everything is assembled.
