Before you begin

Choose your yarn and a hook that suits it, and keep scissors and a yarn needle nearby. If this is your first time making the motif, using contrasting colors can help the bow tie detail stand out and make your stitches easier to see.

I used 2.5mm hook and medium yarn.

You can also try a quieter palette: one color for the bow and a neutral shade around it would look lovely in a set of matching squares. 🧶

Tips for a neat square
