A Little Crochet Christmas Tree to Make Your Own 🎄

Some Christmas decorations are special because you made them yourself. This little crochet tree uses three layered pieces to create its shape, with pearl details and a ribbon bow for the finishing touch. It’s small enough to hang on a tree and pretty enough to tie onto a wrapped present.

Before you start

Gather a small amount of yarn, a crochet hook suited to your yarn, scissors, pearl beads, and ribbon. You’ll also need a way to secure the pieces and add a hanging loop. If you’re using beads, set them aside in a small dish before you begin. They’re much easier to find there than among your yarn scraps!

Make the three tree sections

The tree is built in three parts: top, middle, and bottom. Work through them in that order, then lay the pieces out before attaching anything. Seeing all three together makes it easier to check the layered shape and adjust their placement.

This is also a good point to choose your own look. A single shade gives the ornament a simple, classic finish. Using different shades for the layers makes each section stand out.

Add the decorations

Once you’re happy with the tree’s shape, arrange the pearl beads and ribbon bow. Try placing everything first, then step back and look at the whole ornament before securing the details. Leave room at the top for a hanging loop if you plan to put it on your Christmas tree.
